Clear and simple concept

In 2018, Mattias Sjöö opened his first Blackstone restaurant in Gävle together with two partners. It was a significant success, and in the spring of 2022, it was time again. That’s when the trio opened a Blackstone restaurant in Örebro.

Yes, our venture in Gävle can actually only be described as a huge success, Mattias explains. When the opportunity arose, we seized it and also established ourselves in Örebro. It's probably a good testament to the franchise concept that we chose to start another restaurant in the chain.

Focus and precision

Mattias is careful to emphasize that one should be cautious with the word “simple.” He suggests that it can sometimes carry a negative connotation.

Sure, the concept is very straightforward for us as franchisees. But our guests definitely don't experience the restaurants as simple. We put a lot of focus and precision, both in the selection of ingredients and especially in the preparation of starters, desserts, and sides," Mattias emphasizes.

Opportunity to influence

Much of what is noticed and visible to guests in a Blackstone restaurant is the same, regardless of which restaurant you visit. The decor and most of the menus are identical, as is the high quality of both food, drinks, and service.

One of the things I think is best about running a Blackstone Steakhouse is that as a franchisee, you have significant opportunities to influence. Even though much happens collectively in the chain, I really feel that I have the opportunity to adjust things based on our circumstances.

The head office focuses on providing full support to both kitchen and serving staff, ensuring that all Blackstone restaurants maintain the same high level.

We truly receive all the help needed to run a top-class restaurant. The uniqueness of our concept makes it relatively easy to staff the kitchen. Our joint purchases also contribute to creating a strong economy in the business, Mattias concludes.
